Join the Lab
We are looking for curious, dedicated, and collaborative scientists who are excited to help shape a new lab from its earliest days and ask fundamental questions about nervous system development and plasticity within dynamic tissue environments.
We welcome people from diverse scientific backgrounds and are especially excited about trainees interested in working across disciplines, including developmental neuroscience, stem cell biology, microbiology, immunology, and genomics.
Ph.D. students: Apply through Columbia's Ph.D. Program in Genetics and Development or the MD-PhD Dual Degree Program, and mention your interest in the lab.
Postdoctoral fellows: Please email Begüm with your CV and a brief statement describing your research interests, previous experience, and what excites you about joining the lab.
Rotation students: Columbia graduate students interested in rotating in the lab are encouraged to reach out directly.
